because He lives

hey all,

here's to a mid-week post. i hope everyone's doing great. art fair is charming, i'll say that much, if also a bit overpriced ($7 gyros??).

yesterday, i felt overwhelmed by several things: the current work i have to do, the first round of exams that i'll face in a month, my very real habit of procrastination and the task of still adjusting to a new place. but just like that, the hymn "because He lives" came to me.

the chorus you'll all recognize goes like this:
because He lives, I can face tomorrow
because He lives, all fear is gone
because I know He holds the future
and life is worth the living
just because He lives

it's so simple, isn't it? the very fact that Jesus lives, that He resurrected and conquered death and all the darkness that we feel surrounded by sometimes, that should be enough to embolden us, and make us ready to face the new day. God isn't giving us a superficial, temporary comfort here, instead He's blessing us with a comfort based on the rock-solid truth of His son's resurrection.

to this i say woohoo! i hope this hymn is a comfort for you all as well.

Praise God!!!

yo folks,

hmmm... just wanna share my lil news... i'm sort of under the weather these days, so i just keep it short...

well, the what happened was that my dad also supports my religion belief~! i was afraid to tell him that i've been converted to a Christian cause i thought he would never understand it. to me, he is a "stubborn scientist". however surprisingly, he brought up his supportive opinion on my spiritual belief. i was so amazed, so exulted , and so grateful to God~! i never imagined that my christian life can be so smooth... in terms of family supports.... my dad's response made me believe in the existence of spiritual unity... and wish the gospel will be spread to my whole family and from there to broader communities. Praise Lord for what He has done to my family... wish He will bless my granduncle for fighting against his cancer...

a verse :)

2 Cor. 12:9
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

From SF...

By God's grace, I'm here, in San Francisco. I mean it. :) In peru, I thought that I might not be able to come to SF since I already spent one more week there. But I have such a nice advisor who understands me, so I could come here. I had a great time today with my friends in here. I'm so thankful that I have such wonderful friends in SF from my small group (grad group) and from my undergrad. :) I love this city a lot! I love His teaching through His people and His city. :) Anyhow I will update more later. Have a wonderful time in AA. Hasta luego!

testing..

i'm just testing... hah

Purpose of Diary

"From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another." John 1:16

Hey everyone!
It is true that we survive each day by the grace of God and there are so many unspoken testimonies that God builds through our daily lives. We want to use this blog to record God's faithfulness in our lives whether it's small or big, but to encourage each other as we are reminded of God's grace at work in all of our lives.

Feel free to update the blog at anytime with stories, testimonies, songs, verses...etc. to encourage our small group. It doesn't have to be a long testimony, even a simple lesson that you learned about God's grace during the day is fine. Also, check often to read upon what God is doing in the lives of our small group members and be encouraged that the same God is working in all of our lives. May this blog be used for His Glory!
